Underlayment Specialties Plus recommends that a roof jack, with planks, toe boards, or a strong platform be secured to the underlying roofing deck to prevent slippage of stored materials on steep sloped roofs (greater than 4:12 pitch). What is the Warranty on the RoofTopGuard II Premium and Roofers Choice II Synthetic Underlayments?

With over 50 years of building materials experience and over 17 years of synthetic underlayment expertise and experience, we proudly stand by our performance- and safety-based products by offering a limited 50-year guarantee for RoofTopGuard II and a limited 30-yr guarantee for both RoofTopGuard SA and Roofers Choice II Synfelt..

Can staples be used on the RoofTopGuard II Premium and Roofers Choice II Synthetic Underlayment lines?

No. We recommend that 1” capped nails be used during installation (smooth shank preferred). However, if staples are used, they must be capped staples. If capped staples are used, extra care must be taken to fasten at a 90 degree angle or there is a risk dimpling the cap and compromising the integrity of the cap’s sealing effect.

How long can RoofTopGuard II Premium, RoofTopGuard SA Ice & Water Shield  or Roofers Choice II be left exposed?

RoofTopGuard II Premium, RoofTopGuard SA Ice & Water Shield or Roofers Choice II can be left exposed to the elements and UV for 180 days, or 6 months. This rate is based on proper installation of the product.

Can RoofTopGuard II Premium and Roofers Choice II be used on slopes less than 2:12?

Yes. However, the underlayment must not be mechanically fastened, and all laps must be sealed.

Yes. RoofTopGuard II Premium, RoofTopGuard SA Ice & Water Shield and Roofers Choice II can be used under all claddings.

Are any of your products Made in America?

Yes, we can proudly say that Roofers Choice II and RoofTopGuard SA Ice & Water Shield are both Made in America. RoofTopGuard II Premium is imported from Europe, it is TAA compliant.
